Sicily the Island of Wonders is an app of Augmented Reality (AR) created by the Sicilian Region to raise awareness of the archaeological heritage of the island.Designed by the Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity in collaboration with the Regional Center for Inventory, Cataloging and Documentation, the app was developed by ETT s.p.a.The app allows the user to activate, through his smartphone or tablet, videos that illustrate some of the most interesting archaeological areas in Sicily.
These contents are activated through the cd image recognition that, thanks to the recognition of special markers (images that represent some archaeological finds), can be framed by the camera of the users device: the software of the App will recognize the image and activate in automatic way the contents.The "marker" images for the activation of the videos are available on panels, on a leaflet and on postcards, distributed in paper form by the Region and downloadable in digital format from this address: Download Collapsible
