The Sri Mahalakshmi Temple is an active house of Hindu worship.

There are periodic ratha (chariot) processions is taken out of the temple in an decorated with colorful clothes and flowers, with volunteers pulling the chariot through the streets of sankapura and the concentric roads in the tradtional village.
