Helal Hafeez (born October 7, 1948) is a modern Bangladeshi poet who gained special popularity in the late twentieth century.
His collection of poems "Jale Agun Jwale" has been published in 1979.
His second book of poetry, Kavita Ekattar, came in 2012 after 26 years.
One of his most popular poems is Forbidden Editorial; two lines of the poem "Now is the best time for the youth to go to the procession, now is the best time for the youth to go to the war".
He has worked as a journalist and literary editor in various newspapers and magazines.
In 2013, he was awarded the Bangla Academy Award.
