Audio formats and especially the podcast have opened up new communicative and creative possibilities. It is a bubbling and constantly evolving ecosystem, which has a wide impact on all audiences, but especially on millennials through a new way of telling stories, real or fictional. The rise is global, but it cannot be understood without its relationship with some contemporary information and communication trends: the irruption of the voice as a tool of contactless technologies, the rise of platforms, the commitment of the media -including radio - by multimedia and transmedia formats, or the flourishing of digital narratives that are forming a new cultural canon. Technological, economic and cultural reasons that will foreseeably combine to make its consumption continue to grow in the future, and that join the organic quality of the format: audio has its own grammar but it is tremendously malleable, which allows it to be present in almost all relevant sectors of our society.
