About Proman - Smoke Signal
The Smoke Signal app can be used by departmental officials to report on a variety of road related defects on departmental road infrastructure.
Typical defects that can be reported on includes, but is not limited to:• Crack• Edge break• Erosion• Fence• Guard rail• Pothole• Road sign• Rutting• VegetationThe app uses the current GPS location of the user to determine the location of the road defect.
Alternative locations can be selected on a live map.A detailed description of the defect can be recorded and photos can be taken and uploaded along with additional supporting information.Defects are recorded in the departmental PROMAN system (https://proman.mz.co.za) upon submission from the Smoke Signal app.PROMAN manages the workflow of the reported defect and constantly updates the reporting official of the current status of the issue.IMPORTANT: Smoke Signal is only for use by registered officials within the Northern Cape Department of Roads & Public Works.
