The Novel Materials Discovery Laboratory, is a European Centre of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to Big-Data in materials science.
NOMAD creates, collects, stores, and cleanses data, computed by the most important materials-science codes.
NOMAD develops data-mining tools in order to find structure, correlations, and novel information that could not be discovered from studying smaller data sets.
The large volume of data and innovative tools will enable researchers in basic science and engineering to advance materials science, identify new physical phenomena, and help industry to improve existing and develop novel products and technologies.This app can be used to explore in virtual reality crystal structures from the NOMAD Encyclopedia (https://encyclopedia-gui.nomad-coe.eu/#/search/) or other sources, molecular dynamics with or without electron density, and Fermi surfaces.You will need an unzip application in order to expand the crystal structures provided by the encyclopedia.
You may also provide your own datasets and configuration files.The application supports atomic data from xyz or cube files, and pre-processed ply files for isosurfaces of density.A configuration file (.ncfg) instructs the app on the visualization parameters.See https://nomad-coe.eu/the-project/graphics for details.
