One of the most useful things that kids learn that gives them confidence in dealing with calculations is to learn simple multiplication off by heart.
It is perhaps especially useful when dealing with division.
Learning the table by heart used to be a basic requirement in most schools but got thrown out with other less useful “parrot” learning.
