Majorna is an artist-dense district in Gothenburg.
25 years ago, a number of Majorna artists decided to invite the public to their studios for a weekend.
It became a valued event that was repeated and grew in the coming years and was named Konstrundan i Majorna.
For the art-interested public, it has become a matter of course to have the chance to wander around among the many studios, to meet the artists and enjoy good art and beautiful handicrafts during a weekend.Konstrundan i Majorna is usually arranged during a weekend in April.
There are usually between 50 and 75 artists who open their studios during the art fair, and in order to be able to prioritize which studios you want to visit during the weekend, a visit to our collective exhibition is recommended.
The location for the collective exhibition has varied over the years, but we have usually found a venue near the Sugar Mill down by the river where many of the open studios are also located.
To facilitate visits to the studios around Majorna, buses usually depart from the collective exhibition.The association Konstrundan in Majorna is a non-profit association with approximately 100 members.
To become a member of the association, you must be a professional artist or craftsman and have your studio in Majorna.
You prove your competence with a CV or educational certificate.
