About 511PA

The 511PA app provides near real-time highway and traffic information to drivers to help them safely plan their route.
This includes information on roadwork, incidents, road closures, and weather alerts on roads across the state.
This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays: • Traffic speeds • Road Conditions • Weather Restrictions• Updated PennDOT snowplow locations (Track My Plow)• Incidents and closures, such as collisions and other road hazards • Cameras • Roadwork• Message Signs• PennDOT Bridges• PA Turnpike Information• And many other info layers!The app also features audio alerts that notify drivers of all the types of events listed above and more!
Drivers can customize their alert experience and configure the app to their preferences, including being able to only receive alerts that apply to their chosen route.

this is my 'go to' winter driving app! its very useful for snowy days! my only suggestion, is that it could used an updated, more user friendly interface.

To me, this app is a life saver....so much info to prepare me for heading to work on bad weather days. Believe it or not it helps to keep my anxiety down. I can tell when State trucks last patrolled roads to salt/plow, how traffic is moving, if there are any incidents on my normal route so I can plan accordingly. I wish I knew about it a lot more recently than just a couple years ago. I highly recommend!

Video of cams not alwys available, and pictures of cams do not update automaticly. But at least it is quick accesss to map and cams. Oh yea, the camera option is not saved on map, meaning you have to choose option everytime! The tablet layout ís terrible and wasteful!

Today was not a safe drive. Around 8:30 am this morning I used this app to see what my commute would look like. It said I99 had good flow of traffic, no winter conditions. It did say there were restrictions which I get. But the plowing had not just been plowed as the app stated it just had been plowed. The roads were not safe. My vehicle was sliding numerous times. I like the site for 511pa, but not this app.
