For everything that Google has the capability and capacity of doing in this day and age there Google voice leaves so much to be desired and feels antiquated compared to its voip competitors I am sure Google has the funds to remain free and still dominate the market with greater features and a more desirable interface come on GOOGLE BE HERE FOR THE AVERAGE FOLKS!!!

Voice system is currently broken when trying to register for a new number.
The Google Voice number should not have to be connected to any other existing phone number! Excellent app though! I love having Google Voice telephone numbers!
Pro: Overall a very good experience for me. I haven't used other alternative call/message apps so I can't tell how they compare, but Google Voice in general has done wonderfully for me over the years. Reliable searchable texting + computer calls/texts! Con: It often has issues handling media sent through texts, so if someone sends me pictures like screenshots or other things, I often have to use my actual number or email. They may have fixed this somewhat recently, I'm not sure.
