About FlockFinder
FlockFinder has been created for birdwatchers to use on their Android operating system.
It will serve the purpose of being a birdwatcher’s guide to locating birds, as well as provide information about selected birds.
It will also allow its users to view a map of general bird hotspots within a selected distance from the user’s current or selected location and if the user selects a specific hotspot pin, they will be redirected to a new screen that will help them navigate to the selected hotspot.
This screen will help the user navigate to the selected hotspot location as well as allows the user to share their location with their friends via SMS.
There is a bird observation feature that displays the bird names and dates of birds that the user has seen and added to the database and there is also a feature allowing the user to view their bird observations on a map.
There are two additional features, one being that there is a feature for the user to create a list of birds that they wish to see and once they have seen the bird, they can scratch it off their wishlist, and the other being the screen which allows the user to view a list of birds from the eBird API which the user can search for a particular bird on and click on the bird to retrieve more information on it.
