Fiber Team is a project by Unidos pela Vida – Brazilian Institute for Cystic Fibrosis Care, whose main objective is to encourage the practice of physical activity among people with cystic fibrosis.
For this, it disseminates information on the subject, shares examples of athletes, promotes events and encourages participation in national and international competitions.Cystic fibrosis is a rare genetic disease, still incurable, whose main symptoms are chronic cough, recurrent pneumonia, diarrhea, nasal polyps, saltier sweat than normal and difficulty in gaining weight and height.
People with cystic fibrosis need, as part of their treatment, regular physical activity to improve their cardiorespiratory fitness and lung capacity.The Fiber Team app brings, from July to November 2021, the Around the World challenge for Cystic Fibrosis.
With it, we intend to complete a total route of 40,000km for the dissemination of cystic fibrosis.
