I bought a newer AIS receiver to work with my Galaxy S6, it didnā€™t work. I contacted BoatBeacon and explained the problem; and after a few e-mails back and forth they had a free update available on Play Store within an hour after the solution was implemented. I used BoatBeacon on my Galaxy S6 with my old AIS receiver from Panama to Texas and was never concerned about ships or commercial vessels passing too close to my sailboat.

Add photo of own boat?

Very impressed indeed. On our first outing while trying it out visibility dropped to yards. It was very reassuring to have warning of the vessel approaching head on before it emerged from the mist a couple of hundred yards away.

I used this app with AIS nmea signal from my receiver fed in via the usb. It worked but on my first passage with it, over two hours it crashed 4 times. Very frustrating as this was a rough passage and needed reliable AIS so can't rely on this app so will uninstall.

Great app thank you. Told lots of friends about it. In coastal Queensland waters at moment and message on screen says 'hotspot requires browser login' so can't see any other boats. Any suggestions?

Was happy with it until I upgraded to live view, screen is full of all sorts of stuff and cant see ships and other vessels, they are there but so much colour just cannot make it out. How do I go back to original?

This is a great app except for 1 small issue. No body can see me on boat watch.. they can see all the boats around me but not me. I can see me and everybody else. It's very frustrating...
