The Mission of Livingston Parish Gravity Drainage District One is to construct, maintain, and operate outlets for the waters of our district by acquiring drainage and flood prevention works, right-of- ways for canals and ditches, by utilizing the necessary equipment, and facilities to achieve this mission and the overall mission that is to prevent flooding.Total Miles of Channels Maintained by LPGDD1 = 102 Miles Area of Watershed = 35,830 acres The 102 Miles includes 56 square miles of land and properties with the main channels measuring 65 miles long.
