Most of the time the app does not work at Sainsbury's Meadowbank Edinburgh, so you can't get the app offers 😒
Useless. Always getting error message 'unable to get your location' despite GPS being on (all other apps needing GPS work fine so it's not my phone). Tried to get it to work many times but still the same problem. Was only going to shop at Sainsbury's because of the lower Smart prices (the supermarket doesn't have the handheld scanners so the app is the only option), but because the app doesn't work, no reason to do so now as I can get the items cheaper elsewhere. Waste of time.
Absolutely pointless app that makes your shopping experience far more difficult than using a self scan till. I tried to pay and the app told me I needed to have a QR code on my phone scanned by a staff member: the first staff member didn't know what to do so referred me to the till, the woman behind the till said she needed to get another member of staff to come out from the back to scan my phone and check an item (not even age restricted). I'm told this will happen once every 5 shopping trips!
Terrible. Intermittent internet connection on both mobile data and in-store wi-fi. Items in basket disappeared. Much easier to use the handsets when available. App totally unfit for purpose.
Staff not trained in how it works, can't scan loose items like bananas, the barcode on the shelf isn't recognised.
Usually a very good app which we've never had an issue with..Until now. In the last 2 shopping baskets I've scanned every item as usual & then proceeded to self check out and It was requested a rescan of several items by staff. On both occasions items were found that 'weren't scanned', both times we know we scanned them. 1st was a large shop & we doubted ourselves, 2nd was small & we checked the items were scanned several times. It's definitely an app issue which has caused us embarrassment.
