Description
This tool helps you decide whether to lease or buy equipment (for a business) or auto (for a consumer) by providing a detailed financial comparison. Financial analysis comparing leasing vs. buying is made using the equivalent loan method. It assumes that leasing is an alternative to purchasing the asset with debt. Cash flows from leasing and buying are analyzed with internal rates of return and net present value being calculated in each case.For equipment leasing, the tax shields from depreciation of owning an asset (buy case) as well as any tax deductions from the rental expense (lease case) are considered. Straight line as well as MACRS depreciation schedules are possible. For consumer auto leasing it is assumed that none of the tax-deductions apply. The UI is very intuitive and easy to use. Help on any specific input is available by long pressing the text label. All your inputs are automatically saved. Default values can be set for all input fields by a simple menu pull down. A nicely formatted HTML report can be generated that can be emailed to any specified address using your favorite email client.
