Estimation application downloads and cost
Seller misjudged weight by 56grams and refused to ship product unless I canceled and repurchased the item. Mercari sided with seller. Beware, listed priced are meaningless. Check in frequently on orders because Mercari will side with the seller.
Good useful app, but it tells me repeatedly there is new stuff related to my saved searches when I check it's the same things that were available before, rather annoying to be quite honest.
Before I'd consider using Mercari again, they need to improve the buying experience. Unfortunately it's far to easy for bad sellers to get away with anything from cancelling orders to sending fragile items with no packing material at no consequence.. why? Because you can ONLY leave feedback if you keep the item, no feedback option for cancelled sales. This allows bad sellers to retain higher feedback scores. Been a buyer/seller on Ebay for 20 years and never had the bad experiences like Mercari.
Great app
Mercari is the worst platform they will ban you for no reason, I had 3 different 5 star transactions (for basketball and football cards) and they banned me without explanation. Upon further inquiry they refused to tell me which rule they thought I had violated. Of course after multiple messages and 2 days they responded quoting their help section, no clarification whatsoever. If you are accused of something it's nice to know what it is! Don't get scammed by this scam platform.
This app is complete trash. It's been in development for years yet still lacks BASIC photo manipulation and editing within listings that Ebay has had for a decade. They take a HUGE percentage out of each sale and WILL NOT defend you if buyers try to scam (40% of them will).
