Write is a minimalist text editor for Android Tablets. You can use it to take notes, to write journal entries or for other text editing tasks.Write offers both a minimalist writing interface that allows you to focus on what you are currently writing and a proper modern Android interface for managing your notes/journal entries. It has the features which should be in an Android text editor: clean interface, word count, proper Android appearance and searching your notes. It was selected as one of CNETs Best Android Apps for studentsWrite features...βœ” Fullscreen modeWhen you want to focus you can hide the action bar and go to the fullscreen mode. In this mode you will see just your writing (and the onscreen keyboard if you are using it). There is an additional fullscreen view mode, where you can read text with editing disabled.βœ” Automatic SavingNotes save when you go back to the main screen, when you switch to another App or go to the Home Screen. βœ” Markdown SupportMarkdown is a way of adding formatting to plain text and additional features such as HTML links. Write optionally (activate via the settings menu) treats your notes as Markdown and highlights some of the major elements such as titles while editing.βœ” Word and Character countSo you can keep track of how much youve written. View statistics via the menu.βœ” Quickly create new versions of notesYou can create a copy of a note at the tap of a button. And delete notes (after confirmation) quickly. You can export notes in HTML format to your external storage/SD card (ideal if you want to edit them in Word/Pages/OpenOffice Writer).βœ” Easy note/journal entry managementNotes are ordered by standard last-edited-first order and with a tap of your left thumb you can filter by date. In the latest version you can also order by creation date (Journal style). You can also do a text search to locate particular notes/entries.βœ” (Bluetooth) KeyboardsKeyboards work really well with Write. With a physical keyboard the fullscreen mode really is fullscreen (or as close as Android allows). Keyboard shortcuts for common actions.βœ” Onscreen keyboardAuto-correct is enabled (with a physical keyboard it is disabled) for more accurate writing.βœ” Share/SendUsing Androids share feature Write is ideal for the preparation of blog entries, emails or other text. Just tap on share to send it to many applications (most Android Apps support the standard text sharing mechanism used).βœ” Spellcheckβœ” Android Material Design SupportProper support for Modern Android Material Design/Ad hoc permissions on recent devices.Updated dependency (which seemed to be causing some issues).

I would give it 5 stars, but found it could not handle long pieces, so had to break my writing up in to chapters. Not a big deal, but would prefer a project was on entry.

I use to Love this app but what ever you did, made it useless. I wrote for 3 days. When I tried to print, it won't print. Program keeps shutting down.. Also, I got an email directing me back here to view a reply from you. Please tell me how to view that reply

You can't write better than this. The only thing missing is greater cloud storage awareness (Drive!). Dropbox is okay but more choices is always better. Well done.

I really like everything about this app. But like others have mentioned, better cloud support is needed. Personally I'd like Drive sync, or even Box, or maybe both! Well done on a great app!

Simple text editor. Word count and auto-spell checker are great. I personally use it with my ASUS Transformer keyboard to write first drafts of my short stories.

This is very very nice for writing on but it would be so much better if I could use it in cascade or duel view on my Samsung.

I love this ap so far, minimal, no distractions, different modes and settings, and much more! But for some reason my spell check is not supported on my device (Samsung model: SM-T210R). Please fix or update?
