The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) invites you to download this app as a complement to your onsite museum experience. Use it to become familiar with museum stories prior to your visit. For the opening we feature five sets of stories: Building, Exhibition, Stories for Families, Outdoor and Stories with Multi-Media. Building Stories describes features of our building, including the inspiration for the buildingshape, filigreed panels covering the building, landscaping and LEED features. Exhibition Stories provide details about some of the many special objects in our collection and on display in the museum's galleries. Stories for Families provides those accompanying our younger visitors with age-appropriate language about selected objects, along with questions or thoughts to encourage conversations. Outdoor Stories tells about the impact of African Americans on our nation's capital and the National Mall. Our multi-media stories gather all our mobile stories that are accompanied by an augmented reality feature, special activity or video into a single mobile experience.
In addition to the stories, this mobile app includes maps, directions and museum hours, cafe information, gift shop hours, special activities and video content.
Only those 13 years and over may download this mobile application.
