This simple application calculates the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) based on the CKD-EPI equation, to evaluate kidney function. Its extremely easy to use: fill in patients creatinine (mg/dL), age, gender and race and the eGFR is displayed in mL/min/1.73 m2 quickly on the same screen. The CKD-EPI equation is validated for adults only, and relies on serum creatinine assays standardized to IDMS (isotope dilution mass spectrometry). The eGFR result should be interpreted by a physician.Developed on behalf of the Association of Nephrology and Hypertension of El Salvador (ANHAES) as a simple tool to improve early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. For more information on the CKD EPI equation please read:Levey et al. A New Equation to Estimate Glomerular Filtration Rate. Ann Intern Med. 2009;150:604-612.
