!planned obselescence! had to install a backup app (version 2.2.6) to get full functionality of my gen3 FlirOne USB-C (they removed the temp scale lock feature in version 3 of the app). personally I'd put it back, as the nature of the device gives it limited lifespan (my in-built battery is 2/3rds dead from use, for example) and featureset (the FlirOne gen3 is entry/beginner-level afterall, or as a marketing spin, "ideal for training/teenagers") otherwise, it's an amazing piece of kit worth 5*!

The app is great but so far it doesn't work with my Samsung Galaxy S41. Nothing happens when the camera is plugged.

I spent so much money on Flir one pro and I tried to connect with my phone more than 50 times and doesn't work I'm going to return this and buy some real good tool

So in hope one of the recent updates would make it work, still no luck. I guess I'll try the support call, once again, but I suspect I'll get told, once again, to try that third party app that also doesn't work on my Galaxy S8+. If you would put out a diagnostic app or even an older version that works on older phones it would be helpful IMO. I'll guess the security issues are not an issue for this specific situation, using an old android device for this hardware and it's app isolated from hacks.
