The NACD Home Speech Therapist tablet app is a convenient, effective tool for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech/dyspraxia. It can also be used for: • adults with apraxia • speech therapists working with individuals with apraxia • parents working with children with apraxia • traditional articulation practice Developed by the National Association for Child Development team, including a certified speech-language pathologist, the Apraxia app provides choices of different phonemes to target and moves through a progression of levels that challenge motor planning for speech. Working at the syllable level, it begins at the production of single syllables and progresses through increasingly difficult production sequences all the way to the production of sequences of random syllables.** Features ** • Choose from 8 different consonant groups (for a total of 19 consonant sounds) to target. • For each group, choose from 8 levels to practice• Detailed instructions explain how to choose an appropriate consonant group and practice level. • Move through a logical progression of 8 different levels for motor planning for speech. • Illustrations and audio provided for each syllable. • Option to repeat levels, reset, or move to next level. • Can also be used for straight articulation drill for particular phonemes.

I love the app. Most of the wordsmare the same or similar to the ones we use at speech therapy. I would like some words that begin with vowels though. Overall a great app.

This is built great for children with Apraxia. My child was going to Speech class 2 times a week for her Apraxia. I bought this program and have seen such amazing progress that we were able to cut the speech class down to 1 time a week.

I can't get the app to open.

Took along time to download

Running android 4.3. We use restricted profiles for our kids. Your app crashes when ran from a restricted profile. Please fix ASAP. -- Just tried again today (fresh download and install) on android 4.4.4 and still has same issues as a secondary user (Aug 18 2014)

Subtitles under illustrations are partially hidden behind the progress indicator at the bottom of the screen. The level 7 and 8 buttons are also cut off, to the extent that they are almost unusable. This ia a wonderful app with partial words and illustrations of complete words. This app was just what we needed for home speech practice. It is best used when I can sit with my child and give my complete attention to pronunciation and correction. More illustrated words would be a great addition to this app. Thank you for the option of turning the voice over off.

Running 4.4.2 android. Installed it twice and immediately it says it won't open. I was really excited to find an Apraxia app and now it's just a big disappointment.
