Description

VIN Inventory is a quick VIN lookup tool that allows you to save vehicle details and photos. Scan a VIN barcode in just a few seconds using the Android autofocus camera or enter the VIN using the keypad.This app was created for automotive salespeople, managers, car enthusiasts and anyone who wants to keep a list of vehicles with photos. Vehicle details can be easily emailed and full-sized photos are stored in the photo Gallery for easy access.No subscription, in-app purchase or decoding fee is required to use the full features of VIN Inventory.VIN Inventory quickly authenticates and then decodes the vehicle VIN (serial number) and displays rich details including year, make, model, engine, equipment, optional accessory items and EPA numbers. The user may add a stock number (or tag number), color, odometer reading, price, and a note about the vehicle. Three photos can be added using the device’s camera or photo Gallery. All data can be appended or edited. The user may choose to either add the vehicle to their Inventory List or delete the vehicle after a quick review. Previously saved vehicle data can be edited and photos can be updated at any time.The Vehicle List display screen is a scrolling table of all saved vehicles complete with thumbnail photos. Tapping on a specific vehicle calls a detail view with vehicle information and photos. The user can tap a photo to edit or use a long-press to view an enlarged image. VIN Inventory’s database includes vehicles produced after 1981 (17 digit VINs). Data coverage is for North American cars and light trucks but omits data for exotic and commercial vehicles and older vehicles. New models are added to the database as information becomes available. Vehicles which are not included in the database may be entered manually.AutoPlus produces other vehicle inventory tools with such features as upload, download, import, and export of vehicle data, multiple photos, label printing and other powerful functions.This VIN Inventory app is an extension of our 22-year-old AutoPlus Window Sticker business (a division of Tanner Communications). The VIN decoder is quick either by barcode or text entry. User interface looks ancient but it works. Export to email works without issue. Suggestions: • Ability to add additional text fields for Optional/Standard equipment. • Increase or remove character limit on text fields • Quickly clear and/or remove text fields (an "X" button beside each would suffice) • Ability to categorize any user-defined equipment or denote Optional Equipment if desired. So far, so good. This has potential.

This app may be ok for some vehicles but I greatly regret buying it. I work with vehicles constantly and need to verify the year of many vehicles. This was unable to identify a late 80s vehicle as well as a 95. I found another app that works better for less. Going I can get my money back but I doubt it. This was a waste of time and money

Would be a perfect ap if you could include where it was purchased and check number. Also needs a way to keep track of expenses on the car.

I do wish they would update this app and make a printable copy so you can print a list of your inventory

No export feature!! Cannot select multiple vehicles in saved list. Have to go through them one at a time, needs checkboxes. Needs options to export list to csv, xls, or db. Limited to three pictures of everycar. No video option. Also please add option in settings to remove confrimation of deleting cars. When vehicle vin is entered show details immediately following without having to hit details.
