Description
Due to the spotty, slow, and unreliable cell signal in the Appalachian mountains I had a tough time getting weather forecasts with data hungry commercial weather applications. I created Appalachian Trail Weather to use an extremely small amount of data (less than 1kB) in order to pull back a fast, accurate forecast with as little battery drain as possible.Simply enter what mile you are at and get the closest 7 shelters to your location, click on the shelter you wish to get the current and future forecast for that location.Sort by State, or view all shelters in one list.I created Appalachian Trail Weather over a weekend half way through my thru-hike in 2011 while visiting family. It proved to work well back in 2011 and several 2012 thru-hikers found success as well.Good luck to all NOBO and SOBO 2018 hikers as well as section hikers this year.Ill be doing trail magic around Front Royal and the Roller Coaster this year.Switched over to the National Weather Service for weather data.

Still not working
To get new version you have to uninstall and reinstall! Weather data cannot be obtained until you do that.
Just keeps getting better. Probably the best app I have on my phone, if there ever is any problem it is taken care of really fast. well designed, small footprint in memory, works excellently.
Great details for each shelter!
Love the app & the updated format. I do have a question though: are the shown temperatures reflecting what they are at the higher evaluations of shelters like old version did or are these listed temps for the nearest weather stations at lower elevations?
Love that it is working again. I liked the old app style where it showed elevation temp difference and the Temperature as a number easily seen when I first opened a location. And then can look at the forecast and such as needed. But. If this is the newer version, it is what it is and I am grateful for your contribution and the app. Love it and Thanks!!!
