Introducing The Detroit Free Press eEdition app, where subscribers can read The Detroit Free Press with all the stories, photos and ads shown just as it appears in print. Subscribers can use their current account login to access current and back issues.Improved startup speedImproved stability

Oct 25 - having read the update below, I accessed the app settings and deleted storage, but not personal settings, and I was able to access today's e-edition. I have been unable to log into this for almost 3 weeks and now can no longer log into the Detroit News app either. I have contacted customer support daily for the past 3 weeks to no avail. It amazes me this organization is so insulated from their customers. This was a great app until it wasn't!!

Upgrading review to 4 stars after figuring out how to make the app work without crashing (like so many others have mentioned). Without any help from the support team I finally figured out how to make this not crash by going into settings and at the bottom there is an option to "Return to Classic eEdition", I selected this and now it works. To get to the settings you need to go to the page of editions and on the menu bar select settings. You might have to clear the cache to get to editions page

Honest reporting.

I have been reading this paper for years it fits the information that is needed.

Took a while to get used to reading the paper on my tablet, but now I love it!

The updated app is great! We're able to turn the page like a printed copy. I also like having the entire screen to read, or view, an ad or article.

I've been very critical of past versions of this app. Very poor user interface, instability, bold text overwrite, etc. I thought it was the worst app of any I had to use on a regular basis and I seriously considered cancelling my subscription. This update is a vast improvement. Still a few bugs, e.g. the page buttons don't always register correctly. But now I can at least read the paper without constant swearing.
