AIDE for PhoneGap is an integrated development environment (IDE) for developing portable PhoneGap Apps directly on Android devices. You can use your exisiting HTML5/CSS/JavaScript web development skills to build Apps which can be quite easily transfered to various mobile platforms. AIDE supports the full edit-compile-run cycle: write code with the feature rich editor offering advanced features like code completion, real-time error checking, refactoring and smart code navigation, and run your App with a single click. AIDE is fully compatible with Eclipse PhoneGap projects. You can just copy the sourcecode to your device and open the Eclipse project in AIDE to start coding. Alternatively you can keep your sourcecode on your Dropbox - AIDE integrates with Dropbox and allows to easily download from your Dropbox and sync back your changes. AIDE can also open Android Studio projects, which follow the default folder structure. Can't compile my project because some of Polymer's libraries have "JavaScript errors" even though it works perfectly fine everywhere else. Why is there no "ignore errors" function? I paid for this, I want it to work or I want a refund! Been a few months since I contacted the developer and I've gotten no response.

Thanks for on-device actual programming! I use it all the time on tablet.

This could be so much better but as others have said it appears to have been abandoned by developer(s). Useless old version of Phonegap

There seems to be a bug in the JavaScript Syntax Checker of the AIDE Phonegap edition. If an object uses or redefines a reserved word for some other purpose than is defined in the standard, the syntax checker shows this as an error, when in fact it's allowed. This means that some third party libraries that actually run perfectly well are shown to have a lot of errors. The application compiles and runs fine. However this problem floods own ones own errors during development. It would be nice to be able to redefine this behaviour or at least have the option for the IDE to ignore certain groups of files (e.g. known good third party libraries). Since this is a developer tool - I would like to see better support - such as bug trackers and so on.

The Cordova version used is old, and there's no way to upgrade it. After repeated inquiry about appfour updating the app I've received no reply. Google is no longer accepting apps made with the out of date version of Cordova used by this app. Still a great IDE as long as you don't plan to distribute your app on the Google Play Store.

Love coding while in a train, plane or similiar

I was super excited to see that there was a Cordova version of this app, having purchased the android version a long time ago. Simple apps are pretty easy to get up and running. But for serious development on the go there are a few more things I would love to see. 1. Integration of bower package management. I don't hardly do anything with Web Development without bower, and bringing in third party Javascript libraries is tedious at best. 2. Git providers other than github please. 3. Starting a new project based one of the thousands of seed repositories on github. Clone the repo then make it mine (on bitbucket). There's no other way to get something serious done quickly. 4. Ionic integration would be really cool, but perhaps impractical on this platform.
