About this app

With MAPAC-Diagnosis you can look for a clinical suspicion or a reason for consultation, select the risk and alarm factors that your patient has, and thus know if CT or Rx are urgently indicated to support your diagnosis.
MAPAC-DX App is an application designed to be a decision support tool in the context of emergency medicine, in the diagnostic process that involves requesting urgent CT (computerized tomography) and Rx (simple radiography). It is especially necessary in the field of emergencies, where the diagnostic and therapeutic process must be precise and fast, where it aspires to be useful for the physician requesting radiological tests (the user).
Finally available one of the finalist Apps in the VII edition of Hackaton Salud, 2022!
It is a tool to Improve the Adequacy in Clinical and Care Practice in the request of CT and Rx, fundamental in the medical diagnostic process, but not exempt from risks for the patient, due to the ionizing radiation they produce.
This App is based on algorithms developed as a medical decision support system (CDSS), prepared by a panel of experts (clinical doctors, radiologists and health methodologists), based on validated clinical prediction rules, guides for clinical practice and consensus documents of medical societies and health platforms on the use of ionizing tests.
The objective is to reduce the high rates of inadequacy in the indication of radiological examinations. With it we provide the user with a help method to know if a patient is indicated to undergo a CT or an X-ray, based on algorithms that also provide a method of clinical assessment of signs, symptoms and patient history. In some cases, it also gives alternative recommendations when the test is not indicated.
