Description
Smoking areas and rooms at airports. This is a basic app that can be used offline or online to find and plan journeys for the travelling smoker. The main site online is www.airportsmokers.com and can be accessed on any device with internet access. This app has been put online to help the travelling smoker who may go through security too early and find out that there is nowhere to relieve the cravings and end up with several hours without a cigarette.
Primarily we will cover AOE (Airport of Entry) airports and major internationals. This is an ongoing and growing venture, it will take time to go fully international and cover everything. At present there are over 400 major airports covered worldwide.
Against popular belief around a quarter to a third of the worlds adult population (that's around one billion people) still smoke and any airport that refuses to provide smoking facilities is neglecting to provide for a large amount of its users. By doing this they are providing bad customer service which must reflect on the general standing of the airport.
Personally I plan long trips around airports that do have smoking facilities. I have been surprised that sometimes it can work out more convenient and cheaper as they tend to be medium sized and looking for good business. It is time for some of these large airports to get off their moral high ground and start providing their customers with the facilities they deserve.
